Health and w cake

I missed the deadline to register for our annual health screening at work so I called IHS (Interactive Health Solutions) to see if I can do a walk in for today and sure enough they let me. So I fasted for 12 hours since last night (it sounded like its a long time but it really wasn't). I just had to make sure I didn't eat anything after dinner which wasn't so hard because I was too busy preparing for my cake class for tonight. I made 2 batches of cake (one white and one chocolate). I was very pleased with how the cake turned out. I got the dimensions of the cake that I wanted and the cake itself looks and smell yummy. My worst enemy of the night though was the fondant...sticky stinky fondant...I couldn't make it to work and I was getting too frustrated because it just refused to cooperate. Anyway, after I draped the fondant on to the cake, I called it the night.

So this morning, I walked in to annual on-site wellness screening. The nurse took my blood pressure and a vile of blood. This health evaluation will assess my health risks like:

Cardiovascular disease (blood pressure, LDL Cholesterol, HDL Cholesterol)
Diabetes
Liver and kidney disease
Blood, bone and muscle disease

I'm glad that work has provided us this screening test because it is important for me to be healthy. I will have to wait for the result sometime next week...and I bet I will have to start to exercise...darn it!

It's Wendy's birthday today too...I tried to drill her for her age but she didn't badge. I just have to say that she looks so young I can't tell how old she is. Anyway, we had lunch at Seoul Hotpot in Overlake, and we ordered tofu soup with kimchi and beef and Pork bolgogee. It was delicious! I would go back there again.

Then after work, I went home to pick up my cake and other cake stuff. It gets too overwhelming sometimes, worrying how the cake will turn out and if the instructor will like it or not and also just thinking of all the stuff to bring in the class and make sure not to forget anything. As soon as I got to the class, I started working with decorating my cake. Well, butter cream decided not to cooperate as well. Haha...seriously, my patience is being tested tonight. I didn't get to finish my cake so no pictures here but I will get it done. I have to.
