....today is a turning point for both my cake and my baby T:)
I finally get to use fondant to cover my cake in our class tonight. I baked 2 8 inches square cake for the class (one white and one chocolate) and I used cream cheese frosting for filling and then I stacked the cakes together to make a 8x8x4 (WxLxH) cake. Our goal is to make a package cake using fondant. I've been waiting for so long to use fondant and tonight is the night. Just as I expected, fondant was like play doh. I feel like a kid once again playing play doh. I can just imagine all the things I can do with it. I didn't get to finish the cake tonight which is good because I couldn't decide on the design. I'll finish it tomorrow.
As for baby Tyler...he finally sleep in his own room *sniff sniff* My baby is moving on. He's been sleeping in our room in his pack and play since he was born. We decided to keep him in our room because for one its convenient and two, it is important for us to keep an eye on him. We've been going back and forth on when to move him in his room. We (meaning me) have a hard time letting go. However, when I put him to nap, I've been putting him in his crib so he'll get use to it. We've been pushing the move every month and we were going to do it when he is 6 months old (which is still couple weeks from today). When I came home from my cake class, he was already sleeping in his room. For some reason Jon put him there. It was unintended. I was going to move him back in our room but I figured we should give it a try and see if he cares. Ty didn't seem to mind at all. He was in bed by 8pm and I woke him up to change and feed by 10:30pm and he just went back to sleep. I'm having such a hard time with this transition. Maybe I'll sleep in his room too.
