Martha Martha Martha!

I admit...I watch her show on TV (even watch her show on On Demand multiple times :)), I check her website for new ideas, I always browse on the MS aisle every time I go to Michael's, I check out her products at Macy's and I even borrow and read her magazine and books. What can I say? Her stuff is pretty good.

Last Friday, my co worker had loaned me her MS books (special holiday edition - Halloween and Christmas) and I've enjoyed reading it and at the same time overwhelmed. It seems that new idea comes out of every page and it made me want to do all of it :) but because I'm into cake decorating right now, I should stay focus on cakes.

So, I decided to check out new wedding cake books online....ummm I mean Martha Stewart book that is *grin* and found one book with a beautiful wedding cake on the cover. It's the Martha Stewart Wedding Cakes (List price -$60, Amazon's price - $37.80 free shipping)...kind of pricey for me but I have no doubt that this book is amazing. However, I refuse to buy any book unless I am convinced I am going to need it someday. So I go to the library first and borrow it for free. *grin*

I finally got this book from the library yesterday and believe it or not I've gone through it cover to cover 4 times in just two days. I spent a lot of time staring at the beautiful picture of different kind of cakes and articulating the design and technique used to make them. I am so fascinated that I can't wait to copy the design on my cake. I am now debating whether I should just get the book or not...it is a keeper :) Oh well, I have this book from the library for the entire month. I'll decide then.

To Martha, someday when I get really good at decorating cake, I have to thank you for the great ideas and inspiration...*wink*
