Pink Thursday

Why the title? Well...I feel color today and I can’t decide what color to describe my day. I went to Purple cafe for lunch but I don’t feel like purple…haha. It’s a better day at work; still a long day but at least not as stressful. Deadlines were yesterday but more follow ups. Hmmm…maybe today is a pink day…kind of mellow.

I took the opportunity today to go out to lunch with a friend of mine who I use to work with. She just got a new and better job so we wanted to celebrate it. I met up with her at Purple Café with my previous manager and my friend Anne. It was nice being out, enjoying lunch, catching up with friends and not worrying too much about work. It amazes me how fast she moves on to better job. *sigh* If only I can be that motivated….

Anyway, after work I stopped by Michaels (again) to get another cake material. I’ve been getting cake materials one at a time and at a very good discount (50% coupon) this week. I can’t help it…It’s hard to pass a good sale. Our cake class was cancelled tonight because our instructor’s daughter turned 21 but I wanted to stop by the store anyway to see if there’s anything else I need. I saw one lady in our class at the cake aisle; she is doing the same thing…going through each product and cake materials in the aisle and see if there’s a good find. It makes me feel better that someone else is as excited to do cake decorating as I am. We talk about how much we’ve done so far in the class and how awkward it was when we first started…not knowing anything about cake decorating. We discussed our wedding cake design for our final class and we were both excited for it. I have a pretty good idea of what I wanted for my wedding cake but I’ll have to wait and see if I can pull it off *smile* So, I left Michael’s with another 8" square pan because I intended to make the height of the cake into 4 inch and I figure it’s best to bake 2 cakes at one time. I’m just afraid that I’m accumulating way too much cake materials that our kitchen would look like a bakery *smile*… Hopefully that will not be the case. As much as I enjoyed baking and decorating cake, I’m not sure if I’m ready to have my kitchen look like a bakery. I’m sure Jon would not like that either.
